Baseball Recap: Ledyard Beats Windham for Their Third Straight Victory

Ledyard proved they can win big on Monday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the Windham Whippets get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. This was payback for the Colonels, who suffered a 10-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The result came thanks to Jake Nenna's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. Ledyard is 2-1 when Nenna allows one or fewer hits, but 3-6 otherwise.

At the plate, Ledyard saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

The victory (which was Ledyard's third in a row) raised their record to 5-7. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Windham, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Ledyard didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Bacon Academy on the 7th. As for Windham, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-3 defeat against St. Bernard on the 7th.
