Volleyball Recap: Texico Comes Up Short

After flying high against Hagerman on Thursday, Texico came back down to earth. The Wolverines fell just short of the Portales Rams by a score of 3-2 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Wolverines in their meetings with the Rams: they've now lost seven in a row.

Texico took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-15, 25-27, 25-13, 15-8.

Kinzee Crow paced Texico's offense, picking up 19 kills. Crow got some help from Kailie Wieland and her 38 assists.

Texico's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Portales, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-4.

Texico didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Jal on the 21st. As for Portales, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Artesia on the 21st.
