Glendora is 0-3 against Arcadia since January of 2024 but things could change on Friday. The Tartans are taking a road trip to face off against the Apaches at 6:00 p.m. The last four games Glendora has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Things were looking good for Glendora after they put the first run on the board on Wednesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Muir by a score of 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Tartans have lost by just one run.
Morgan Gonzalez was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Mia Reyes was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Arcadia had just enough and edged out Muir 5-4 on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Apaches.
Samantha Almaraz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alyssa Cordeiro was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Arcadia's record now sits at 10-7-1. As for Glendora, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
Glendora's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's match. The Tartans have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Arcadia, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Glendora continue to outrun the ball?
Glendora suffered a grim 17-8 defeat to Arcadia in their previous meeting back in February. Can the Tartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
