Volleyball Game Preview: San Ysidro Cougars vs. Mar Vista Mariners

San Ysidro is 2-8 against Mar Vista since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Cougars will host the Mariners at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.

Mar Vista will take on a team with plenty of momentum: San Ysidro extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Chula Vista.

Meanwhile, Mar Vista made easy work of Chula Vista on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Mar Vista was: they took every set by at least 11 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-11, 25-12.

Mar Vista picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 10-22. As for San Ysidro, their win bumped their record up to 18-12.

San Ysidro was able to grind out a solid victory over Mar Vista when the teams last played back in September, winning 3-1. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Mariners have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
