Soccer Game Preview: West Anchorage vs. Juneau-Douglas

The West Anchorage Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

West Anchorage is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alaska's top teams: Ketchikan, who was ranked fourth at the time (West Anchorage was ranked sixth). The Eagles put the hurt on the Kings with a sharp 3-0 win on Thursday. The score was close at halftime, but West Anchorage pulled away in the second half with two goals.

They hit Ketchikan with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Musa Marrah, Zane Larsen, and Arlo Jeperson.

Meanwhile, Juneau-Douglas hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Saturday. They and Colony finished up their match with a 1-1 draw.

The victory made it two in a row for West Anchorage and bumps their season record up to 5-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored six goals over those two contests. With that draw, Juneau-Douglas' record moves to 5-0-2.
