Basketball Recap: Bernalillo Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Bernalillo was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They lost 90-68 to the Albuquerque Academy Chargers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 85-45 back in January.

Despite the loss, Bernalillo saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Elias Valencia posted 43 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Valencia has scored all season. Kenneth Saiz was another key player, putting up nine points.

Bernalillo's defeat dropped their record down to 3-22. As for Albuquerque Academy, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 16-10.

Looking ahead, Bernalillo will venture away from home to square off against Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will be up against the Vikings' rather soft defense (which has allowed 62.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Albuquerque Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
