Softball Recap: Mendon Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Mendon had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Manchester Flying Dutchmen get on the board and left with an 11-0 win on Tuesday. Considering the Hornets have won 23 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Mendon's seventh in a row) raised their record to 27-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Manchester, they moved to 12-12 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Mendon will challenge Hillman on Friday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight. Manchester does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
