Basketball Game Preview: Gallia Academy Blue Devils vs. Waverly Tigers

The Gallia Academy Blue Devils will head out on the road to take on the Waverly Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Gallia Academy is headed out to face Waverly after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Blue Devils walked away with a 60-49 victory over Athens on Monday.

Meanwhile, Waverly didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Fisher Catholic on Friday, but they still walked away with a 60-54 win.

Waverly's win came from a few key players Gallia Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kage Alexander, who went 9-for-21 on his way to 23 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. Kaiser Keesee was another key player, shooting 60% from the field to rack up 17 points.

Gallia Academy skirted past Waverly 62-59 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
