Volleyball Preview: Hyannis Longhorns vs. Maxwell Wildcats

The Hyannis Longhorns will square off against the Maxwell Wildcats at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hyannis is no doubt hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.

Last Tuesday, Hyannis came up short against Hay Springs and fell 2-0.

Hyannis was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 15 points in every single set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Maxwell didn't have quite enough to beat Brady on Thursday and fell 3-2. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maxwell actually scored more points across those five sets (97-92), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 14-25, 13-25, 25-23, 25-15, 15-9.

Even though they lost, Maxwell was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last six games.

Hyannis' defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Maxwell, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
