Preview: Indianapolis Lutheran Saints vs. Sheridan Blackhawks
The Indianapolis Lutheran Saints will head out on the road to face off against the Sheridan Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Indianapolis Lutheran sitting on 26 straight victories dating back to last season and Sheridan on four.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Indianapolis Lutheran had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 14-7 win over Providence.
Meanwhile, Sheridan didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against North Decatur on Friday, but they still walked away with a 24-20 victory.
Sheridan can attribute much of their success to Zach Bales, who rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns. Bales has been hot recently, having posted six or more solo tackles the last five times he's played. Chance Spencer made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Indianapolis Lutheran pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40.46 points. As for Sheridan, their win bumped their record up to 10-3.
Everything came up roses for Indianapolis Lutheran against Sheridan when the teams last played back in October of 2020 as the squad secured a 55-12 win. Does Indianapolis Lutheran have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sheridan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
