Tipton and Hamilton Heights are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Blue Devils will face off against the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tipton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 28.6 points per game this season.
Tipton took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lafayette Central Catholic 49-7. With the Blue Devils ahead 35-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Tipton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zane I. Durham, who rushed for 43 yards and a pair of TDs. I. Durham also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making six total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending two passes. Dakota Garmon did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 88 receiving yards.
Tipton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Garmon and Zakk Emberton. Garmon got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Hamilton Heights was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 25-17 win over Twin Lakes. That's two games straight that the Huskies have won by exactly eight points.
Tipton better keep an eye on AJ Flanagan. He was instrumental in Hamilton Heights' win, rushing for 201 yards and two touchdowns.
Hamilton Heights was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 212 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive contests.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Hamilton Heights' defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Will Duncan, Landon Hickman, and Cyrus Mason, who each picked up one sack apiece. Andre Chandler was another major factor on D, making eight total tackles (0.5 for loss) and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.
Tipton now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Hamilton Heights, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-4.
Tipton and Hamilton Heights were almost perfectly matched up in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but Tipton suffered an agonizing 14-13 loss. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
