Baseball Recap: San Manuel Comes Up Short

If San Manuel was riding high fresh off their 18-7 takedown of Valley Lutheran last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Miners lost 12-4 to the Mogollon Mustangs on Friday.

Tanner Decker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. San Manuel is 7-2 when Decker posts two or more runs, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominic Rodriguez, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

San Manuel has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Mogollon, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Mustangs beat San Manuel by a score of 11-3 later that day.
