Basketball Recap: Sedro-Woolley Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Sedro-Woolley lost against Mount Vernon back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the Sedro-Woolley Cubs and the Mount Vernon Bulldogs didn't end well, with the Sedro-Woolley Cubs falling 47-29. The Cubs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mount Vernon found their leader in freshman Anaya Saldivar-Slater, who went 6 of 14 en route to 18 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Saldivar-Slater has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Kim Williams was another key player, putting up eight points.

Sedro-Woolley's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. As for Mount Vernon, their record now sits at 9-5.

Sedro-Woolley will head out to square off against Squalicum at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Squalicum will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Sedro-Woolley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mount Vernon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bellingham at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
