Basketball Recap: Vista del Lago Comes Up Short

Vista del Lago suffered their biggest loss since January 9th on Wednesday. They came up short against the Christian Brothers Falcons, falling 76-51. The Eagles have struggled against the Falcons recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Christian Brothers found their leader in sophomore Joaquin Lucero-Mattis, who went 8 of 10 on his way to 21 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. Those four steals gave Lucero-Mattis a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephan Hewitt, who posted 16 points and five boards.

Vista del Lago's record is now 12-11. As for Christian Brothers, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 19-5 record this season.

When Vista del Lago and Christian Brothers next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Vista del Lago will try to stop Inderkum's 14-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Christian Brothers will challenge Woodcreek and their four-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
