Baseball Game Preview: Blanco Panthers vs. Florence Buffaloes

For the second straight game, Blanco will face off against Florence. The Panthers will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. Blanco's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Florence's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Blanco is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Florence just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Buffaloes by a score of 6-5.

For Florence's part, Ethan Miller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dane Gola, who went 1-for-3 with one home run. Cody Carlson was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Blanco's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 9-7. As for Florence, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 9-10-1.
