Softball Recap: Fort Vancouver Takes a Loss

Fort Vancouver had lost six straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-9 to make it seven. They came up short against the Seton Catholic Cougars, falling 10-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Trappers were not able to get on the board.

As for Seton Catholic, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

For Seton Catholic's part, Jocelyn Kender was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. Kender has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Seton Catholic got a big performance out of Kenzie Kuhnhausen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Grace Farrell also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

While Fort Vancouver had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
