Camp Verde skates past Santa Rita with ease

The Camp Verde Cowboys waltzed into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 65-31 win over Santa Rita on the road. Camp Verde might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three contests by 24 points or more this season.

Camp Verde's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jazmin Torres led the charge by scoring 12 points along with 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Marisol Salas Zorrilla, who scored 12 points along with 3 steals.

Despite the loss, Santa Rita still got an impressive performance from Jayla Brabham, who scored 24 points. Brabham scored a full 77.4% of Santa Rita's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Camp Verde's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Santa Rita, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Camp Verde's road trip will continue as they head out to face Winslow at 5:30 p.m. on December 5th. Winslow is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Santa Rita, they will head out on the road to face off against St. John Paul II Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully St. John Paul II Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Thursday.
