Softball Recap: Sylvan Hills Bears vs. Jacksonville Titans
Sylvan Hills never got on the board in their matchup last Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Jacksonville on Tuesday. They never let the Jacksonville Titans get on the board and left with a 19-0 win. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Bears this season.
Laityn Simmons - 2025 made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Simmons - 2025 was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Abbie Mayden - 2026, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brylee Overman - 2025, who scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
