Baseball Recap: Five Straight Road Victories for Scottsburg

Scottsburg took a 12-run defeat the last time they faced off against Jennings County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Warriors sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Panthers on Friday. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 15-3 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Braden Cox, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Scottsburg pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.6 runs over those games. As for Jennings County, their loss dropped their record down to 10-13.

Scottsburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jennings County, they will challenge Madison at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cubs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
