The Silverdale Academy Seahawks are taking a road trip to take on the Signal Mountain Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Silverdale Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
While Silverdale Academy's victory against East Hamilton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Seahawks won by a run and slipped past the Hurricanes 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Seahawks have posted since April 1, 2024.

Drake Dills made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season.
In other pitching news, Moxon Montieth looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Silverdale Academy let Caleb Voss and Jonathan Hasty run wild. Voss scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Hasty went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 17 runs the game before, Signal Mountain was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against Red Bank, falling 12-2.
Silverdale Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Signal Mountain, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-7.
Silverdale Academy couldn't quite finish off Signal Mountain when the teams last played back in March and fell 8-6. Can the Seahawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
