It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Anson ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They skirted past the Central Eagles 13-12. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bearcats' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

The win made it two in a row for Anson and bumps their season record up to 5-13. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 5-10 Piedmont and 6-10 Central. As for Central, they dropped their record down to 6-10 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anson will take on Piedmont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. After both having extra time off, Central and Chesterfield will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on the 25th.
