Baseball Recap: West Iredell Gets the Win

West Iredell's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 victory over the Bunker Hill Bears. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 back in March.

The team relied heavily on Luke Pierce, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Michael Davis also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Iredell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

West Iredell's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Bunker Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.

As of now, neither West Iredell nor Bunker Hill have any future games scheduled.
