Softball Game Preview: Olympian Eagles vs. Chula Vista Spartans

Olympian has gone a perfect 3-0 against Chula Vista recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Spartans at 3:30 p.m. The contest will give Olympian their first taste of in-conference action this season.

On Monday, Olympian didn't have quite enough to beat University City and fell 3-2.

Jacqui De Murguia made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailynn Robeson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chula Vista). They blew past Madison 14-6 on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Spartans as they're now sitting on three straight.

Chula Vista's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Olympian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-12-1.

Olympian took their win against Chula Vista when the teams last played back in May of 2022 by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
