Baseball Preview: Lake Hornets vs. Newton County Cougars        
        
		
            
 The Lake Hornets will head out on the road to  take on  the Newton County Cougars at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Newton County took a loss in their last  match and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake, who comes in off a win.
 Lake stacked  a  12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They never let Newton onto the board and left with  a   17-0  win. The  victory was just what Lake needed coming off of  an  11-5 loss in their prior  matchup.
  Cole Bergin looked comfortable as he  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (he also only allowed one  walk).
 On the hitting side, Lake got a  massive  performance out of  Aiden Alford, who  scored a  run and  stole two bases while going 3-for-4.  Kasen Tune was another key contributor,  scoring three  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 Newton County might be feeling deja-vu: they lost  4-1 to West Lauderdale, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Newton County has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Lake's win was  their seventh straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 14-6. Those good results were due in large part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.4 runs per game. As for Newton County, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-8.
 Lake suffered a grim  16-6 defeat to Newton County  in their previous meeting  back in February. Can Lake avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
