Soccer Recap: Young Men's Leadership Academy Takes a Loss

Young Men's Leadership Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Diamond Hill-Jarvis Eagles, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Young Men's Leadership Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 809th, while Diamond Hill-Jarvis is ranked 137th).

Young Men's Leadership Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Diamond Hill-Jarvis, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 17-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Young Men's Leadership Academy will venture away from home to take on Benbrook at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Young Men's Leadership Academy has given up an average of 2.8 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Diamond Hill-Jarvis, they will head out to square off against Southwest at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Southwest has won six straight at home, while Diamond Hill-Jarvis won seven straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
