Preview: Radford Bobcats vs. James River Knights

The Radford Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the James River Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Radford is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.

On Wednesday, Radford slipped by the Highlanders 37-36. The victory was just what Radford needed coming off of a 60-24 defeat in their prior contest.

Even though James River has not done well against the Cavaliers recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. James River walked away with a 47-34 win over the Cavaliers. The victory was all the more spectacular given James River's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Cavaliers are ranked 14th).

Caitlin Canada was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Honesty Liming, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds.

Radford's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11. As for James River, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.

Radford was dealt a bruising 60-30 loss at the hands of the Knights in their previous matchup on Friday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Canada, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Now that Radford knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
