            Baseball Recap: Middlesex vs. St. George's Dragons        
        
		
        
        
            It may have taken  eight innings to finish the job, but Middlesex ultimately got the result they hoped for  on Wednesday. They came out on top against the St. George's Dragons by a score of  7-2. Seven seems to be a good number for Middlesex as the  squad scooped up a  victory with the same number of  runs in their previous game.

 Charlie Driscoll made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He  didn't allow a single  earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Those  six  strikeouts gave  him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Luke Warzynski was  excellent,  going 1-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. He has become a key player for Middlesex: the team is 3-1 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 5-12 otherwise.  Ryan Wolff also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
Middlesex is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-13 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. George's, their defeat was  their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 0-15.
As of now, neither Middlesex nor St. George's have any future games scheduled.
