Benson took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against Bisbee, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bobcats narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Pumas 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Bobcats: when they faced off against the Pumas back in March, they had to take a 12-3 defeat.
Claire Parke spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits.
At the plate, Benson got a massive performance out of Karris Taylor, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. Sadie Webb was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Benson kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matches.
