Softball Game Preview: Sharyland Rattlers vs. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North Raiders

Sharyland is 0-5 against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North since March of 2023 but things could change on Thursday. The Rattlers are taking a road trip to take on the Raiders at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with four losses in a row, Sharyland turned things around against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Wolverines.

Meanwhile, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North was not the first on the board last Tuesday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out McAllen 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won eight in a row.

Emma Escamilla spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Raelyn Mancias, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Sharyland's record now sits at 6-10. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North, their record is now 22-6.
