Basketball Recap: East Stroudsburg North Comes Up Short

East Stroudsburg North was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 44-40 heartbreaker at the hands of the Emmaus Hornets. The Timberwolves were not able to make up for their loss to the Hornets from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, East Stroudsburg North still got an impressive performance from Ozias Washington, who went 8 for 15 on his way to 18 points. Those 18 points gave Washington a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jatoine Draughon, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, East Stroudsburg North was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

East Stroudsburg North's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Emmaus, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Stroudsburg North will take on Stroudsburg in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Emmaus and Liberty will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
