With six key contributors from the 2017-18 season gone or testing the NBA waters, landing Georgia forward E.J. Montgomery became a major priority for head coach John Calipari and Kentucky in recent weeks.

The Wildcats did just that Monday as Montgomery broke the news to Evan Daniels of 247Sports that he will play in Lexington next season.

247Sports has Montgomery pegged as the No. 12 prospect in the Class of 2018. The 6-foot-10 standout averaged 26.4 points, 13.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game during his senior season at Wheeler (Marietta).

He joins one of college basketball's top recruiting classes that includes fellow Top 25 prospects Keldon Johnson of Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, Va.) and Immanuel Quickley of John Carroll (Bel Air, Md.), along with Top 50 shooting guard Tyler Herro of Whitnall (Greenfield, Wis.).
