Basketball Game Preview: Catasauqua Rough Riders vs. Lehighton Indians

The Catasauqua Rough Riders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lehighton Indians at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Catasauqua sitting on three straight wins and Lehighton on nine.

Last Saturday, Catasauqua didn't have too much trouble with Jim Thorpe as they won 51-37.

Meanwhile, Lehighton strolled past Southern Lehigh with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 73-54. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 141st, while the Spartans are ranked 420th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Catasauqua is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Lehighton, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Catasauqua came up short against Lehighton in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 53-47. Can Catasauqua avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
