Football Game Preview: Manzanola Bobcats vs. Deer Trail Eagles + How To Watch

Manzanola is 0-3 against Deer Trail since September of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Bobcats will welcome the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Manzanola has given up an average of 44.8 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Manzanola came up short against Weldon Valley on Friday, falling 46-20.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Deer Trail). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Miami-Yoder 73-18. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Buffaloes: they've now won five in a row.

A big part of Deer Trail's win came down to the chemistry between Chris Manriquez-Bustamante and his top target Jayden Mingee. Manriquez-Bustamante threw for 101 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 8-for-8 passing while Mingee picked up 100 receiving yards and three scores. The dominant performance also gave Manriquez-Bustamante a new career-high in passer rating (177.1).

Deer Trail didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Mingee. His receiving production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 100 receiving yards. Another thorn in Miami-Yoder's side was Hunter Meredith, who picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Manzanola now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Deer Trail, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-4.

Manzanola was taken down by Deer Trail 62-19 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mingee, who picked up 113 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Now that the Bobcats know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
