Basketball Recap: Addison Poston Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Valley

Round Valley lost to Valley back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Round Valley Elks came out on top against the Valley Pirates by a score of 55-48. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Elks.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Round Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Addison Poston, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 16 boards. Poston is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last 14 games she's played. Kelci Walker was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds.

Round Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley only pulled down six offensive boards.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trinity Mitchell, who posted eight points and eight boards. Another player making a difference was Alayna Begaye, who scored 13 points.

Round Valley pushed their record up to 18-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 14-12.

Round Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-42 defeat against St. Johns on the 8th. As for Valley, they have also already played their next game, a 58-53 loss against Many Farms on the 8th.
