Baseball Recap: Forreston Wins Going Away Against Genoa-Kingston

Forreston won the last time they faced Genoa-Kingston and things went their way on Monday too. Forreston blew past Genoa-Kingston 9-3. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by six runs or more this season.

Mickey Probst was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Erdmann, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Probst wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Forreston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. Forreston is a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win made it two in a row for Forreston and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Genoa-Kingston, they dropped their record down to 2-4 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Forreston will challenge Amboy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Amboy will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Forreston surely won't give up without a fight. As for Genoa-Kingston, they will take on Marengo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
