Baseball Recap: Rainier Columbians vs. Umatilla Vikings
Rainier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 11-7 to the Umatilla Vikings. The Columbians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.
Rainier saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Q Jackson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one RBI. Another was Angel Becerra, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI.
Rainier's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Umatilla, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Rainier wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 26-1 loss against Riverside on the 26th. As for Umatilla, they will take on Weston-McEwen/Griswold in a tournament on Saturday.
