Football Game Preview: Northeast Early College Raiders vs. Travis Rebels

The Northeast Early College Raiders will take on the Travis Rebels at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Northeast Early College's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three contests, but Thursday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 71-7, which was the final score in Northeast Early College's tilt against LBJ Austin on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1160th, while the Jaguars are ranked 361st).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Travis). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 58-0 win over Austin Achieve. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Rebels considering their seven-point performance the contest before.

Travis moved to 3-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Northeast Early College, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Northeast Early College was taken down by Travis 65-0 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Raiders, Frank Mcchriston (who rushed for 120 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
