Baseball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

Thursday just wasn't the day for Springfield's offense. They lost 16-0 to the Cloverleaf Colts on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Colts: they've now lost six in a row.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Cloverleaf, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.

Springfield will welcome Firestone at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 13.4 runs per game this season. As for Cloverleaf, they will challenge Roosevelt at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
