Baseball Recap: Prospect Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Prospect extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 18-9-1 in the process. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Rolling Meadows Mustangs. That's two games straight that the Knights have won by exactly two runs.

Prospect got a great performance from Ryan Foley as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave Foley a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Louie Caldrone, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Fouch, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.

As for Rolling Meadows, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-11. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly two runs.

On Rolling Meadows' side, they got a good showing from Aiden Gallucci, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits Gallucci has allowed since back in April.

At the plate, Rolling Meadows saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tony Romanacce, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Coming up, Prospect will take on Palatine at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight. As for Rolling Meadows, they will square off against Schaumburg at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
