Basketball Game Preview: Greenwood Woodmen vs. Whiteland Warriors

Greenwood and Whiteland are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Greenwood Woodmen will be playing in front of their home fans against the Whiteland Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Greenwood ended up a good deal behind Jennings County and lost 51-32. While losing is never fun, the Woodmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Panthers are ranked 57th).

Meanwhile, Whiteland played a tough matchup on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Columbus North, falling 60-36. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-17.

Whiteland has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Greenwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.

Greenwood came out on top in a nail-biter against Whiteland in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, sneaking past 59-57. Will Greenwood repeat their success, or does Whiteland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
