Soccer Recap: Madison Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It was fun while it lasted, but Madison Academy's undefeated season came to an end after five games on Thursday. They fell just short of the Tanner Rattlers by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mustangs came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama soccer rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Rattlers are ranked 86th).

Madison Academy's goal came courtesy of Alex Crider, who's now up to five this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Madison Academy fell to 5-1. As for Tanner, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Madison Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Westminster Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th. As for Tanner, they will venture away from home to take on Clements at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
