Volleyball Recap: International Academy Falls to Atherton in First Game of Season

International Academy had to start their season on the road on Saturday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Atherton Wolverines. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it eight in a row.

International Academy was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-23.

Atherton's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

International Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hamady at 6:30 p.m. on September 4. As for Atherton, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Bentley on the 23rd.
