Softball Recap: Sublette Larks vs. Goodland Cowboys
After a string of six wins, Sublette's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Goodland Cowboys. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Sublette of the 9-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2022.
For Goodland's part, Allison Cure made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off ten hits. Cure has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive pitching appearances. Cure was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.
