Basketball Recap: Center Hill Mustangs vs. Grenada Chargers
The Center Hill Mustangs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 57-41 win over Grenada. The score was all tied up 25-25 at the break, but Center Hill was the better team in the second half.
Grenada's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jarques Perry, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 16 rebounds. Perry is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 14 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Howard, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Center Hill pushed their record up to 11-11 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Grenada, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-13.
Center Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Grenada won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Pirates at 2:30 p.m. on February 3rd.
