Volleyball Recap: Auburn Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Nora Jacobitz and Emma Hyde

Auburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Freeman Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 19-25, 25-15, 25-13.

Auburn's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Emma Hyde, who had 20 assists and six digs, and Nora Jacobitz, who had four digs and three aces. Hyde is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Auburn's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Freeman, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Auburn will head out to square off against Gross Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Freeman, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Sacred Heart on the 30th.
