Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Wildcats vs. Tylertown Chiefs + Official Tickets

The Columbia Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Tylertown Chiefs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Columbia barely beat West Marion the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats took their game on Thursday with ease, bagging an 80-50 win over the Trojans. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won three in a row.

Columbia's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Braylon Johnson, who shot 89% from the field on his way to 19 points along with five boards and four steals, and Jaydon Johnson, who went 7-for-14 to rack up 17 points in addition to seven steals and five rebounds. Those 17 points gave Jaydon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bryson Foxworth, who shot 40% from the field en route to 17 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Tylertown, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They breezed past Amite County to the tune of 60-24 on Thursday.

Columbia now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Tylertown, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Columbia skirted past Tylertown 43-41 in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Chiefs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
