Valley Regional takes loss despite strong efforts from Rex Grabowski and Conor Quinn

Recap: Valley Regional Warriors vs. Morgan Huskies

The Valley Regional Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They suffered a rough 65-44 defeat at the hands of Morgan. While losing is never fun, Valley Regional can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while Morgan is ranked 25th).

Despite the loss, Valley Regional had strong showings from Conor Quinn, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals, and Rex Grabowski, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and five blocks. That's the first time this season that Grabowski pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Thomas Troy, who scored three points along with five rebounds.

Valley Regional's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Morgan, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Coginchaug Regional the next time they take the court. Valley Regional will host Coginchaug Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Morgan will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
