Baseball Recap: Blackman Has No Trouble Against Cleveland

Blackman not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18th (when they won 17-7). Everything went their way against the Cleveland Blue Raiders as they made off with a 9-1 victory. That's the fourth time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 10-5 victory on Friday.

McGuire Bolding tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kenneth Colon was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Daffy Norment was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Blackman hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive games.

Blackman has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cleveland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 30-11.

As of now, neither Blackman nor the Blue Raiders have any future games scheduled.
