Basketball Game Preview: Sherman Bearcats vs. Anna Coyotes

The Sherman Bearcats will head out on the road to challenge the Anna Coyotes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sherman has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 17.

It was a proper cat-fight when Sherman faced off against Walnut Grove on Friday. Sherman was outmatched by Walnut Grove and fell 77-48. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 474th, while the Wildcats are ranked 59th).

Meanwhile, Anna came up short against Melissa on Tuesday, falling 58-38.

Sherman will have to keep a close watch on R.J. Gardner and Lamin Foon, a pair of players who had a big impact on Anna's prior game. Gardner went 6 for 15 en route to 15 points, while Foon almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Foon is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played.

Anna has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season. As for Sherman, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-20.

Sherman came up short against Anna in their previous matchup on January 3rd, falling 74-70. Can Sherman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
