Softball Recap: Holmes Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Holmes can now relate to. They fell just short of the North Johnston Panthers by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday. If the Aces were looking for revenge after losing 12-0 to the Panthers when the teams met back in May of 2015, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Holmes saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Ward, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

The defeat snapped Holmes' winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 11-10 record. As for North Johnston, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-7.

Holmes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Johnston, they will face off against Seaforth on Friday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 10.3 runs per game this season.
